Fun In Chestermere: 5 Local Dates You’ll Love!

One of the fantastic things about Chestermere is that no matter where you are, or what you’re in the mood for, you’re never too far away from a great date spot. We’re lucky to have an abundance of quality local businesses that are run by some of the warmest and friendliest people you’ll ever meet - so change up your date night and check out these fantastic locales that are well-worth the visit!

Pizza and a Picnic

Who doesn’t love a good slice (or two, or three), right?

Whether you’re a traditional pepperoni aficionado or are looking to try something completely unique, Crazy Pasta has a little something for everyone. Homemade pizzas, pastas, sauces, and desserts are truly out of this world, and you can compliment it with one of the of great local beers and wines that they offer.

You and your date can dine in for a truly authentic experience or, to soak up some sunshine while you enjoy your slice, you can head on over to Rainbow Falls Park (which is a quick 8-minute jaunt away). With an abundance of picnic tables and shady trees perfect for laying out a blanket, it’s an ideal spot for enjoying your take-out in the great outdoors.

Paddleboarding and Ice Cream

If you love getting out on the water but you’ve never tried paddleboarding before, you’re missing out! It’s a fun summer activity that’s great for people of all ages and experience levels.

Hyperactive Watersports offers affordable paddleboard and kayak rentals by the hour out on the beautiful Chestermere Lake. Don’t worry, life jackets are included! If you have your own equipment, you can go ahead and forget the hourly rate – you can spend the entire day there for only $10.00.

To cool down after your day out on the water, hop on over to La Diperie where you can get some of the best soft serve ice cream around. You can order off their extensive menu of sweet treats or customize your own ice cream creation with your favorite toppings - cheesecake bites and peanut butter cups, anyone? It’s the perfect way to top off an amazing day spent out in the sun.

Pub Night and People Watching

Sometimes you just want to sit back, enjoy a pint and some great food, and relax while watching the world go by.

The Dockside Bar and Grill has been a fantastic locale since 1979, offering a little something for everyone. With one of the best outdoor views in the city, you can relax on the patio and enjoy the gorgeous panorama overlooking Chestermere Lake. Or, if you love to be where the people are, you’ll love the offerings of karaoke on Fridays and live music every Saturday night.

Enjoy it with a pint of your favorite Township 24 brew for the perfect addition to your top-tier meal. Or, if you feel like a quick drive, you can pop over to the actual brewery itself to round off your perfect pub date night!

Golf and Comfort Food

Whether you’re used to hitting the green several times of week or are just starting out, golfing is a great activity for couples and families alike. The Lakeside Golf Club offers beautifully kept greens, multiple water features, and numerous tee options for all experience levels. Club rentals are available at the pro-shop and bookings are available up to 7 days in advance. Oh, not to mention the knowledgeable staff are some of the friendliest around!

Once you’re done your round, you can stop in at The Rusty Putter for an assortment of delicious food – everything from steak sandwiches, to shrimp dumplings, to fish and chips. And if your round wasn’t as spectacular as you would have hoped (trust us, we empathize), a pint of one of their many craft beers can definitely help to take the edge off.

Bubble Tea & A Walk

While there’s absolutely nothing wrong with hitting up your favorite coffee/tea spot on your date day, why not shake it up with something a little different and go for some bubble tea instead?

The Moon Tea House is locally owned and operated and opened with the dream of sharing tea culture to every person that walks through their doors. From traditional offerings to seasonal specialties, there is the perfect combination of tastes and flavors for every preference.

To make a great thing even better, The Moon Tea House is a two-minute walk away from the beautiful John Peak Memorial Park that borders Chestermere Lake. A serene spot for any occasion, sip your bubble tea and walk the well-manicured paths while enjoying the day with your loved ones.
